Eykona – Linking Distribution Process to Sage


The Client


Eykona technologies have developed sophisticated Wound Measurement System. The Eykona Wound Measurement System is a clinical wound measurement and monitoring system for use in clinical settings and patients’ homes. It provides metrics (numerical measurement data) for clinicians to make local (close to the patient) and remote (away from the patient’s care environment) assessment. It assists comprehensive long-term monitoring of the healing of individual patients and groups of patients whose wounds have been assessed using this device.

 

The Requirement


Eykona use Sage Line 50 for their Accounts System and partnered with Fedex for the distribution of their products. They required a system to manage and monitor the distribution process, this functionality was not available within Sage.

 

The Solution


Simon Jones (Eykona) and Tony Ghagan (Kriston) defined and designed a System that met the requirements using Microsoft Access and an interface to Sage Line 50. The System extracts information from Sage and merges it with the additional information required to manage the Fedex interface. FTP is then used to pass and receive the required information to/from Fedex

OU Endowment Management - Migration to SAN and Virtual Infrastructure


The Client


OUem exist to provide investment management services for the benefit of the University, the colleges and charitable trusts associated with the University.

 

The Requirement


All of the OUem Server were coming to end of life and with an expanding organisation they required increased capacity, additional servers, plus faster recovery times as part of a "Disaster Recovery" program

 

The Solution


Kriston installed a VMware based virtual infrastructure and an EqualLogic PS SAN, the combination of VMware and EqualLogic provide high availability for their virtual environment. The EqualLogic platform provides an Enterprise level of performance and fault tolerance at an affordable price. A physical to virtual migration was carried out over a weekend with no work time outage of service.

PANDA – Migration from Microsoft SBS 2003 to Microsoft SBS 2011


The Client


Panda Services and Maintenance is a supplier of a full range of buildings' services to retail, commercial and managed residential premises.

 

The Requirement


Panda had been using a Dell Server running Microsoft SBS 2003 supplied by ourselves over 5 years ago, both the Software and Hardware had reached end-of-life. The requirement was to migrate to SBS 2011.

 

The Solution


Kriston planned and tested the process of migrating from SBS 2003 to SBS 2011 before undertaking and executing the migration over a “long” weekend, during which there was minimal disruption to the business and only 2-3 hours of down time which took place late in the evening of the first day of migration.

As always in these cases there are a number of small elements to tidy up following the migration, these were dealt with efficiently and effectively, again with no disruption to the business, over the rest of the following week.
